No one is an island.
Not going to lie, I was skeptical of the whole coach/mentor thing in my younger days. Over time I came to realize that having someone who’s invested in your success, but not your feelings, is invaluable for getting objective feedback and accountability. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a close relationship, it’s 1000% honest, but the goal of the relationship isn’t friendship, but success. Having someone in your corner that’s not afraid to tell you exactly what’s up is an incredible asset that everyone should seek out! So that’s the goal of this episode, to convince folks to go out there and look in your life, community, and colleagues for other professionals that can share their wisdom with you.
