We want you to have ownership of your site
Back in the day, before the advent of Content Management Systems (CMSs), changing anything on your site meant editing the HTML directly. Chances are, you couldn’t do it yourself without the risk of breaking something. Obviously, this was not only inconvenient, but it put a barrier between you and the content of your site.
These days, things are done differently. Most of our customers are familiar with some form of CMS, and expect to update their site themselves. But sometimes prospective clients still ask us: will I be able to update my own site?
The answer is yes: absolutely, yes.
You will still need a professional… sometimes.
Of course, there will still be some things you’ll probably want a specialist to handle for you. If you want to install a new plug-in, update the style sheet, or do any other significant site renovation, you’ll want to check in first. However, these instances are growing fewer and farther between. We take steps to ensure that all the coding work we do will be compatible with the WordPress platform as it continues to grow. You will be able to focus on using your site without having to worry about it breaking.
Empowering the user
When we hand the site over to you at the end of our project, it is yours, to do with as you please. And we take steps to make sure that you know how to use your site as well. A lot of this has to do with our CMS. We build all our sites in WordPress, because we believe it offers the best combination of power and flexibility to its users. Additionally, we’ve worked to ensure that the backend of all our sites is as user-friendly as possible.
Because at the end of the day, our primary goal when we hand a site over to one of our clients is that they feel it is, in fact, their site. We’re not trying to chain you to us for future services. We want to give you the keys and watch you drive off into the sunset.
Because that’s what empowering the user is all about.
